short film project : "sans pouces"
We worked in groups on different projects forming on big story which will be shown during the International Short Film Festival Clermont-Ferrand 2012. I had the idea and developed it with Léa Puissant.
Here some pictures of the filming this week.

One test and the two finished coloured latex gloves (Léa)
Thank you again to Phillipe Petit (actor), Alex Pou (video artist) and Fabrice Guérinon (technician).
I think it was a great experience for everyone. I learned a lot.

ARC paysage - a week in Le Havre
I had the chance to be one of the students chosen for a one week study trip in Le Havre (sunday 20.03. - friday 25.03.). We were chosen by our projects we presented (written) weeks before the trip.
Here some pictures of this open, geometrical and new city at the ocean.

(selected Google Earth pictures)

(pictures taken with a Canon EOS except the two first ones)
For my project, I wanted to work on these strange and nearly surreal forms seen from above.

Thank you p.e. Laura, Lucile, Dominique, Ahmed . . .
In the end I worked on a video, as always. I can't change it, the mouvement images are my nature! :D
I'm working on it's montage at the moment, I will upload it when it is finished. The inhabitants become these forms or imitate them. Simple assignations(?) give birth so strange forms and movements.
In the end, I met at least 65 people, all completely different. Each encounter has it's own story. The video professor, Alex Pou, said : 'You seem to be able to make people do everything you want them to do. It's surprising that they really do it.' - Well... haaa... *showing off* It's my natural overwhelming charisma! Haha! :D
It was a great experience and as always, I didn't stop moving to see everything I could get!
Thank you so much ésacm, thank you also to all indulgent participants! (list soon)
From this research of geometric form, I saw my research images as photography for the first time.

They will be replaces by the corrected pictures (colour, contrasts) soon!
bisous
My first successful competition!
One of my videos got awarded at the Videoformes' Une Minute competition in the Highschool's category :
It is a national competition in video creation supported by the Fondation Varenne, the DRAC d'Auvergneand the Rectorat de Clermont-Ferrand open to students and associations.
Saturday, 19 march, 18h30 at the 'Petit Vélo'
I'm really glad the jury liked my video. Unfortunatly, it wasn't shown entirely at the palmarés and there are problems at the screening online, the rhythm is too fast.
I uploaded is on dailymotion, but it won't work properly.
bisous X3
continuing to train myself...
I got to improve my technique, so I did one two things after each day of Videoformes's internship.
- A tiny molding exercise I did this evening,

I just finished the second side of the four sides this evening (the bottom will be the casting/molding opening in the final printing). I will do the two other sides tomorrow- err... no, today. (it's 01:03 a.m. already!)
- And another mold with whom I will do a mask with a material I discovered at Videoformes' internship : It is easy to manipulate, you get a beautiful smoth surface using water, and it stays light and shock resistant!

I am interested in this project, because this 'person' has nothing to do with a the human body. He is taller, smaller and has only one leg etc... I don't want to transform myself into someone else, bit into something else!
Here some work in progress photos :

I really would like to come home before 21:00 p.m. Out at 9a.m., home at 9p.m. I'm so tired. . .
bisous X3
Flo goes "Festivals"!
It was a great and really productive day! Well, the others too, but this one was a little special ^^
First thing : I finally had a really great English seminar for a long time now. It was so great to speak english with French without them looking at me as if I were crazy or snobbish acting up in front of them.
The greatest is that they give us the possibility to pass an internationally recognised exam! (yeah, recognised with an s, I try to speak British English! XD) Not only that the teacher to exercises with us and prepares us to pass it, but our school also takes the financial part!! Awesome!! \ * 0 * / Since I'm french and german, I don't have to pass another language exam, so it's really cool that I can be certificated in English! I'll have three languages official certificated as fluent!! :D (Do I love languages? Do I? XD)
Second thing and the main reason why I write here for you :
Before the International Festival of Shortfilms of Clermont-Ferrand (Festival du Court Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand), I never realised how many festivals there were; all the time and everywhere.
I met so many directors, cameramen and producers, it gave me a tiny idea how all this works.
So I entered the international site of online shortfilm stockage (Shortfilmdepot) and discovered a lot more festivals!
I just submitted three of my videos for three festivals :

my submissions for the Curtocirciuto International Short Film Festival 2011
I will send the other submissions Ampelmännchen and Le Corps In Mali - in march for the International Competitions at :
- 25 FPS, International Experimental Film And Video Festial 2011, Zagreb and
- Concorto Film Festival 2011 - Pontenure, World Stories (International Fiction)
clic will be send to :
- 25 FPS, International Experimental Film And Video Festial 2011, Zagreb
Awesome, how many details shortfilmdepot.com wants in his papers! Videoformes was less formal and smaller :D You can see videos of the festival and on their blog.
EDIT - Clic has been selected for the second price of Videoformes' Highschool competition! It's my first official price!
Two weeks ago, I submitted these three and two another ones (Texte En Ligne) to the festival Videoformes in Clermont-Ferrand where I do my working experience in march and april. (yeah, when others go skiing! XD)
I hope they will like what I did...
bisous X3
note @ myself - international festivals!
continuing the costumes
Here some pictures of the work in progress. . .
First, I sandpapered the hands to be sure and then started to work with clay on one of them...

I will cast them in silicone (tainted+painted) so I can put them on like gloves sticked to my skin
This is the only useful reference with which I had to work.
bisous X3

Much more than 'Court-Métrage'...
I just had the best day for a long time!!! (Not the fullest, I had several times two days in a row without going home! O_ o")
Just when I thought I should go home (to prepare the translation for the director's presentations tomorrow at my art school - EDIT : in the end, I translated both directors ^^°) I couldn't leave; we went to a bar to drink and eat, then to a great Rock 'n' Roll live show, then when I finally got on my way home I met James with whom I had a great chat ^^
Thank you so much all the people I met who were just so kind!
Thank you Basti, Milena, Benoit, Luc, Nathalie (non-française), Thank you Jürgen, Geneviève, Ute, Raimund, Pauline - Thank you Chang-Hao, Jui-Tsai, Henry, Zune and Nathalie (française) - Thank you Ian, Chaitanya, Janina, Pablo? - Thank you Michael, Edmund. . . and all I unfortunately missed to name or of whom I never asked their names but chatting with them was great.
It is so great so meet the world - India, Cuba, Brazil, Taiwan, Korea/Japan, UK, Philippines, USA, France, Italy, China, Germany. . .

33e édition : du 04. au 12. février 2011
To the Court-Métrage itself :
I didn't count the films I saw, but I can say, taht I didn't see passing the time. I went home every day at midnight or 2 a.m. after seeing the last screening or after meeting directors, producers or technicians...
How I love this festival! O u O There are so great films, I'm even more interested in (short-) films than usual! :D
bisous X3
plaster mold and silicone. . . molding workshop 2011 at the esacm
Here some pictures of the past three days. This workshop was really enriching and very interesting!
The artist, Frank, who taught us all these things was joking with us all the time, but he was always there for a dozen of students! Really remarkable, I'm really thankful I had the chance to participate.
Transform my body's shape by first molding my hands. These are for two different projects :

I didn't care their look so much, they are the base for other constructions (animalic hands, Popeyearms etc). He did my left hand, I did the right... not logical, I'm right hander! lD
again body-transforming parts :
soon : the finished mask in silicone
experimenting with clay (positive), then plaster (negative), then coloured silicone (positive) :
A simple try of sort of body marks like scars on the skin. I tried to colour the silicone with make-up powder and it worked!
EDIT : Silicone is SO simple so manipulate!! I love it! I'll see what I can learn about it even more ^^
bisous x3
