We worked in groups on different projects forming on big story which will be shown during the International Short Film Festival Clermont-Ferrand 2012. I had the idea and developed it with Léa Puissant.

Festivals : (International) Competitions
I am sending again my videos to have different and international feed-back!
This time it is Concorto in Pontenure PC (Italy), Kuki Internfilm in Berlin (Germany), 25 FPS in Zagreb (Croatia) and Silhouette in Aubervilliers near Paris (France).
I hope my videos will be seen by interesting and interested people, I haven't the utopic thaught of beeing selected nor rewarded, but I do like showing my videos everywhere and get feed-back one day. The thaught of people getting cheerful after seeing one of my work still is the best!

Regards sur l'Europe 2011
Month ago, I saw thet there was a competition for video and photo with the subject "Regards sur l'Europe" ("look/sight on Europe"). I wanted to participate, so I send my work. A video and a photo.
I have been honored with the first price, so awesome! This is the photo the jury chose :
A photo I took in Le Havre
The second work I presented was the video "Klischees" :
This mosaic photo appears in negativ sometimes... who knows why... ??? Canalblog strikes too often.
It's 9:16 but dailymotion deformed it!!! Why?! ><
This competition got more and more importance. First, it was within Puy de Dôme and then, it gained an european level. It became an exposition which will move to different places for the next two years, until June 2013.
Some pictures from Thursday 12th may 2011, the vernissage of the exposition :
You can also see Justine Emard's work ... and my awarded photo again.
I tried to speak of this photography... ....but I'm a little bit proud :D
Only one day after this competition and exposition, I send my work the CROUS' student competition with this video. I hope having big chances to get rewarded because
1) I and even many others do really like this video so I want it to be seen by others, too and
2) cacahouette, my dear Mac is slowly dying... she even has problems to open windows from Finder!!! ; _ ;

ARC paysage - a week in Le Havre
I had the chance to be one of the students chosen for a one week study trip in Le Havre (sunday 20.03. - friday 25.03.). We were chosen by our projects we presented (written) weeks before the trip.
Here some pictures of this open, geometrical and new city at the ocean.

(selected Google Earth pictures)

(pictures taken with a Canon EOS except the two first ones)
For my project, I wanted to work on these strange and nearly surreal forms seen from above.

Thank you p.e. Laura, Lucile, Dominique, Ahmed . . .
In the end I worked on a video, as always. I can't change it, the mouvement images are my nature! :D
I'm working on it's montage at the moment, I will upload it when it is finished. The inhabitants become these forms or imitate them. Simple assignations(?) give birth so strange forms and movements.
In the end, I met at least 65 people, all completely different. Each encounter has it's own story. The video professor, Alex Pou, said : 'You seem to be able to make people do everything you want them to do. It's surprising that they really do it.' - Well... haaa... *showing off* It's my natural overwhelming charisma! Haha! :D
It was a great experience and as always, I didn't stop moving to see everything I could get!
Thank you so much ésacm, thank you also to all indulgent participants! (list soon)
From this research of geometric form, I saw my research images as photography for the first time.

They will be replaces by the corrected pictures (colour, contrasts) soon!
bisous
My first successful competition!
One of my videos got awarded at the Videoformes' Une Minute competition in the Highschool's category :
It is a national competition in video creation supported by the Fondation Varenne, the DRAC d'Auvergneand the Rectorat de Clermont-Ferrand open to students and associations.
Saturday, 19 march, 18h30 at the 'Petit Vélo'
I'm really glad the jury liked my video. Unfortunatly, it wasn't shown entirely at the palmarés and there are problems at the screening online, the rhythm is too fast.
I uploaded is on dailymotion, but it won't work properly.
bisous X3
Videoformes!
I just began my internship at the Videoformes Film Festival. We built the parts for the installations (expositions and projections) wich means cleaning of the wood, paiting, level out, sanding, painting, transporting, electronical installation...

The installation on La Place Jaude :
Installation in La Chapelle :

Here a video from Justine Emard who was with us these days while we did her installation in the Chapelle.
Vernissage at La Tôlerie : (I spoke to artists and visitors, so I haven't many photos here)

Flo goes "Festivals"!
It was a great and really productive day! Well, the others too, but this one was a little special ^^
First thing : I finally had a really great English seminar for a long time now. It was so great to speak english with French without them looking at me as if I were crazy or snobbish acting up in front of them.
The greatest is that they give us the possibility to pass an internationally recognised exam! (yeah, recognised with an s, I try to speak British English! XD) Not only that the teacher to exercises with us and prepares us to pass it, but our school also takes the financial part!! Awesome!! \ * 0 * / Since I'm french and german, I don't have to pass another language exam, so it's really cool that I can be certificated in English! I'll have three languages official certificated as fluent!! :D (Do I love languages? Do I? XD)
Second thing and the main reason why I write here for you :
Before the International Festival of Shortfilms of Clermont-Ferrand (Festival du Court Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand), I never realised how many festivals there were; all the time and everywhere.
I met so many directors, cameramen and producers, it gave me a tiny idea how all this works.
So I entered the international site of online shortfilm stockage (Shortfilmdepot) and discovered a lot more festivals!
I just submitted three of my videos for three festivals :

my submissions for the Curtocirciuto International Short Film Festival 2011
I will send the other submissions Ampelmännchen and Le Corps In Mali - in march for the International Competitions at :
- 25 FPS, International Experimental Film And Video Festial 2011, Zagreb and
- Concorto Film Festival 2011 - Pontenure, World Stories (International Fiction)
clic will be send to :
- 25 FPS, International Experimental Film And Video Festial 2011, Zagreb
Awesome, how many details shortfilmdepot.com wants in his papers! Videoformes was less formal and smaller :D You can see videos of the festival and on their blog.
EDIT - Clic has been selected for the second price of Videoformes' Highschool competition! It's my first official price!
Two weeks ago, I submitted these three and two another ones (Texte En Ligne) to the festival Videoformes in Clermont-Ferrand where I do my working experience in march and april. (yeah, when others go skiing! XD)
I hope they will like what I did...
bisous X3
note @ myself - international festivals!
Much more than 'Court-Métrage'...
I just had the best day for a long time!!! (Not the fullest, I had several times two days in a row without going home! O_ o")
Just when I thought I should go home (to prepare the translation for the director's presentations tomorrow at my art school - EDIT : in the end, I translated both directors ^^°) I couldn't leave; we went to a bar to drink and eat, then to a great Rock 'n' Roll live show, then when I finally got on my way home I met James with whom I had a great chat ^^
Thank you so much all the people I met who were just so kind!
Thank you Basti, Milena, Benoit, Luc, Nathalie (non-française), Thank you Jürgen, Geneviève, Ute, Raimund, Pauline - Thank you Chang-Hao, Jui-Tsai, Henry, Zune and Nathalie (française) - Thank you Ian, Chaitanya, Janina, Pablo? - Thank you Michael, Edmund. . . and all I unfortunately missed to name or of whom I never asked their names but chatting with them was great.
It is so great so meet the world - India, Cuba, Brazil, Taiwan, Korea/Japan, UK, Philippines, USA, France, Italy, China, Germany. . .

33e édition : du 04. au 12. février 2011
To the Court-Métrage itself :
I didn't count the films I saw, but I can say, taht I didn't see passing the time. I went home every day at midnight or 2 a.m. after seeing the last screening or after meeting directors, producers or technicians...
How I love this festival! O u O There are so great films, I'm even more interested in (short-) films than usual! :D
bisous X3
two identities
Here one of my projects for my diploma in october 2010.
After being inspired by Boltanski, Sherman, Akerman, LeGac and most of all Gasiorowski, I realized that I had two identities in me for years!
Let's fight each against the other, shall we?
I uploaded this video on dailymotion now! Because I want to seperate the 'official' floheyflo (DailyMotion) and the otaku baka-tschann (YouTube).
The description can't contain too much text so here it is :

"Another look on the BMI or the other side of the scenery"
(projection on plexiglas in a loop of 2'26" without sound, 2009)
This is my finished work for the exposition project in the Musée de l'Image in Épinal.
vou can see the video here
We worked on a recently constructed multimedia centre. The main source of inspiration and the starting point for every body.
The first thing I noticed was the variety of odors. On one hand freshly cut wood, plastic, synthetic fabrics and chemical cleaning agent and on the other hand old wood and aged books with their leather and the big deposit of dust in the heart of the library, the 'boiserie'. First, I got to know the place: every corner, every material with his distinguishing smell, I noticed every little change with every visit and every transformation of an odour.
Then I searched inspiration in Süskind's "The Perfume" and from Bodelaire, too to represent the best all these smell.
Finally I chose the videographism, which seemed to me the most real and adequate for my purpose.
But all these images I created were not strong enough to show the feeling I had when smelling each material so I continued to search other images in this place.
When revisiting all these videos, they stood for themselves... each recording was enough interesting alone, even without the background of the odors. All this was due to the fact that I approached each detail. Knowing the place by heart, I noticed tiny mouvemets a normal visitor woud never have noticed. The fact that I worked when the library wasn't open yet and with no one around me, I could completely concentrate on this environment.
Finally this is a sort of a documentary but of a passed time you would never see again this way. No one could do the same work on his place like this again. Not even me, seeing that I changed in the way I think, work and see the things, too.
All this leaded to a experiential and sentitive work. There is no sound since there was nothing to bring by ore than this so I concentrated completely on the image and the movement, not the sound. I didn't want to represent it on a solid ground like a tv but project it on a light surface like a kerchief or a floating transparent surface. Not on the normal way, on the wall with the spectator in front like in the theaters, but in the room as if the image was part of the air.
Since there were some security limits to respect in the museum, I couldn't hang up a surface moving and tripping the alarm. I chose a special semi-transparent plexiglas, lying on a white surface, reflecting the image more clearly.
In this position, the spectator isn't simply in front of it like in front of a tv, but he turns around it. He even steps on it since the projection is in some way part of the floor.
"-thèque" from the frech bibliothèque means "cube" in Greek. It became the leitmotif of our exhibition. Also in my work I used this idea of cube and resized my image on this form. Now I could play with the presentation of my projection : When finishing the assembly of it, I turned the image always through 90°. This provoces a movement among the spectators, trying to follow the image. He isn't fixed on one place but interacts with the video, perhaps stepping on it, cutting the image wit his shadow; he becomes sort of part of it.
